Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi

Relationship Master Reveals Secrets

Never Eat Alone: And Other Secrets to Success, One Relationship at a TimeAfter reading 10 Secrets of a Master Networker & watching Keith Ferrazzi present at Microsoft’s Small Business Summit, I was compelled to visit Borders and check out Keith Ferrazzi’s book ‘never eat alone’.

What I found was a goldmine that gives you the mindset and techniques needed to build powerful relationships that will help you make sales in short term and have a more satisfied, prosperous life in the long term.

Keith’s approach to relationship building is surprisingly simple. The table of contents gives you a window into how easy this book is to read. It delivers principles that will help you build relationships with prospects, clients, partners, employees and journalists.
A few chapters into the book, I started applying Keith’s principles. Since then I’ve noticed a dramatic increase in top of mind awareness with key influences in my market. For example, the president of an 18,000 member association is starting to recommend Volcanic to his members.

Watch the video of Keith at the Microsoft Summit. If you like what he talks about, you’ll love his book. The hardcover edition was great but I decided to also get the Audio CD edition since I spend a 5-10 hrs in my car every week. The format doesn’t matter. Just get this book. You’ll thank me for recommending it once you have built up relationships with people who are constantly trying to help you get what you want.

Want to know more? You’re reading Marketing Post, stuffed with years and years of completely raving mad articles about marketing strategies, email marketing, search engine marketing, website design, relationship management, designing user interfaces, running successful software companies, and rubber duckies.

About the author. I’m Melvin Ram, founder of Volcanic Marketing, a Sacramento company that proves that marketing software can be affordable & can have a big impact. Our software includes Constant Contact, an email marketing software & PipelineDeals, a simple CRM software that frankly is nicer to use than salesforce and the others.

  • I agree that this is one of the more well-written, easier to implement books that I have read, esp. on the networking front. More than implementing ideas, I have been able to share the ideas with multiple people... and I enjoy it more from the perspective of elevating my awareness. I must say that I have not strategically tried to use any ideas, but I like the fact that it is nice to take the extra minute to go the extra mile, and to just think these things... my next career will demand that I give my undivided attention to my professional and personal relationships. Nice post.
